    Are you kiddin?
That's Async's whole shtick, and Vlad likes to "throw down".
That's off the top of my head.

    Anyhoo, back on topic....

I've never seen either of them try to pummel you over the head with religion. They express their viewpoints and leave it at that. Accept it or don't.

Are the lights on a Nativity display keeping you awake or something?

Didn't always agree with him, but I always enjoyed listening an intelligent person go off on things.

If you don't want them doing that to you, then there's an easy way to make them stop....

...but weren't you the one who was just pointing out the fact that this is a discussion board to people who where making the exact same complaint of you?

Was he playing it for a laugh?

Else it seems an obvious strawman. Wickedness is a human thing, no religion necessary.

Didn't see their ego at all. Yours is showing, though.

    I do every time.
Big bang and evolution slaughter Genesis, and then Async will always try to rope-a-dope with the Deist God, and pretend it didn't happen.
    It's almost adorable.

As a matter of fact, I do, but I still don't see their egos on display.

    Knowledge, yes. Ego, no.

A clear example of science disproving religious text and whatnot? Then enjoy your victory already.

Too bad about Hitchens. He was quite the character.

Annoying that the thread has turned into the usual godsquad vs atheist crap.

On the plus side, Hitchens should by now have found out if he was right about God or not.

This fucking ruined my day today. I didn't always agree with him, but I always admired him.

The world is a poorer place for his absence. RIP Hitch. :(

He could only find out that he was wrong.

If he was right (there are no gods or eternal afterlives), there is no way he can ever know it.

But I expect he was right.
