It's possible. From what I hear, the armed Texans are just about done deciding which of Star Trek V, IX, and X was the worst, with IX leading. But rumor has it that they're going to take the dream interpretation of TFF and promote it to eighth place, and take the whiny villains and camp dialog of Insurrection over the Warbird-sized plot holes in Nemesis, elevating it to 9th place.
In some ways XIII is the worse of the modern Trek movies, because it introduced a Queen to the Borg for no good reason, ruining all things Borg that came before and allowing for all things Borg that came after.
You know, there are some major problems with TFF, but it has a classic Star Trek theme and it's definitely better than I remembered.
I remember never feeling more ripped off from a movie than when I walked out of ST V. This was back in college, too, when movies were my hobby and study break. I saw Die Hard about 11 times, Above the Law at least 9, etc. I lived across the street from the 32nd St. Cinema in LA. When I got bored or needed a study break, I went to the movies. $4 back in the day. I saw ST V once- that oughtta tell ya something.
Just watch it again and pretend that everything between the marshmellons and the ending camping scene is a dream showing physical manifestation's of Kirk's insecurities. And just ignore the whole beginning part where Sybock comes out of the desert.
I'm actually considering rewriting ST5 fr my own amusement, just to see if I can take the core of the story and make it something better than we got.
