Florida has some law that requires even the most … odd police story must be reported. That’s why all the idiots become national news.

Most places print odd police stories and have a police blotter in their local news. It is not law, but rather what the news does. People love to read strange and stranger police stories, and this is not why the duh has a reputation.

The duh has a reputation because multiple people have eaten other people's faces off here. People live with large reptiles known as alligators and golf with them, befriend them, or feed their little dogs to them around here. There is a lot of heavy drug use around here. Large numbers of people have lost their driver's license in other states for things like being crazy and drug use, and florida will give them another license. Florida also has a good climate for homelessness and less need for shelter which attracts all sorts of the crazies Reagan let out of the booby hatch. The duh is also 2 inches away from the sun and it melts people's brains.

It has nothing to do with being forced to report on crazy.

Oh, and let us not forget, I am fucking tame around the duh. I used to go to the duh to get explosives, drugs, guns, and cheap smokes and bring them back to NY because I could not get the same thing in NYC.

It's not entirely incorrect depending on what criteria they are focusing on, but also not really right in other ways. For the most part you can't directly translate US states to Australian ones.

The WA/Texas and SA/Ohio,Idaho,Iowa ones are probably the most accurate from what I hear from Americans who have lived here.

It’s not just a law, it’s the strongest Sunshine Ordinance in the country. One of the things to actually appreciate about Florida.

After posting my response (that you quoted), I googled a few things to first, try to remember where I’d heard that, second to make sure I knew what I was talking about.

The Sunshine Ordinance allows for EVERYTHING to be public record. So, it’s easy for idiots without actual news stories to have something to write about.

Nothing in Florida is more or less outrageous than anywhere else. Just that the laws in Florida allow for every stupid thing to be reported. And the more unusual, the more likely it is to gain national attention.
