I really wanted to like it. I love (and still play) Fallout 4. Dropped sixty bucks on 76 when it was new and stuck it out through the early malfunctions, but about the third time I had to repeat the entire 50+ gig install to get a small patch to work, I bailed on the POS and haven't gone back. Technical issues aside, it's a huge map and costs bottlecaps (in-game currency) to fast travel. All of your gear breaks if an enemy gives you so much as a stern look, and replacements or repair parts are a grind (and a long schlep) to obtain. The talkative Fallout NPCs are gone. The sparse, dull quests are usually given by audio recordings or text on a terminal screen. The content bored me quickly, the rare encounter with another human player was either a source of aggravation or just something to be ignored. Plus Bethesda decided to bail on Steam and force you to install their own equivalent for downloads and patches, which I found annoying. I struggle to find something positive to say. The graphics are great if you have a super-uber M5 1Z2Z supercomputer, but I do not. So I got a lot of freezing and crashes until I dialed the settings way back. Actually, I was also forced to install the "NVidia GeForce experience" and run the game through their overlay to get the fucking thing to run at all.
Supposedly they are or have added human NPCs, so im gonna reinstall and check things out. Edit: Stuck my head it. NPCs aren't coming until the fall update, I noticed several player vending machines on the map, but no one active. had to move my shotgun shell grinding spot because they boarded up the airport.
