And here we go. They've reneged on the ceasefire deal and begun starving the population of Gaza again.
Replying late to this, but humanity has always ranked the "worthiness" of human lives. I don't agree that Palestinian lives, as a whole, are worth any more or less than Israeli or other peoples' lives. But I do agree that members of Hamas, and people who support Hamas, lose a lot of points on the worthiness scale.
Overt genocidal threats against the people of Gaza from Trump today. It is grotesque in any event and it may be a harbinger of further imminent mass death - which won't take long if the current blockading of aid persists. Hopefully however, it is an overcorrection to the leaking (by Israel) of the fact that the US are now negotiating directly with Hamas, and similar to what happened with the ceasefire in the first place is Trump positioning himself to take maximum credit for a deal.
I watched the RealLifeLore video on Gaza, and honestly I found not be more disgusted with Israel than I am right now. The level of destruction in Gaza is stomach-churning.
How could anyone who cared about the issue of Palestinian innocents have possibly foreseen that Trump would side with genocide? Besides all the evidence in the world, I mean.
Now they've cut the electricity, which means no clean water for anyone in Gaza, no medical equipment and much else.
The IDF massacred aid workers in northern Gaza too. Looks like a concerted effort to derail talks that are showing promise. It's now 2 weeks since any morsel of food entered Gaza. Acute malnutrition in children has doubled. The genocide is definitely back on.
An enormous massacre in Gaza. The ceasefire is officially over now, I'd say. And with it, the faint light that had appeared at the end of the tunnel.
Don't you support this carnage? Changed your mind because it's now Trump responsible rather than Biden?
Trump? Responsible? That's impossible, I distinctly remember Biden being personally responsible for everything that happened in Gaza because Biden loved committing genocide so very much. That's why everyone was supposed to vote for Trump in order to save Gaza, right?
I can only speak for myself, but I personally was never in favor of carnage. I'm not surprised in the slightest that we've now moved on to openly advocating ethnic cleansing under Trump.
I certainly did not advocate that anyone vote for Trump for any reason. Apart from that, I'm not sure what confuses you. Biden was personally responsible for genocide while in power. Now Trump is personally responsible. If there were justice, they'd both be tried and executed for this, and people like you who support it (even if they cynically change their position to align with partisan weathervanes) would be afraid to show their faces in public.
It's almost like you're ignoring every single factor at play so you can cry "America bad!" and "American president bad!" no matter who holds the office. If you don't personally execute both of them then you're equally responsible for every single dead Gazan. That's how it works, right? I support the complete destruction of Hamas because they're a bunch of monsters intent on commiting genocide against one group of people while happily accepting the potential genocide of another group of people as the cost of doing business. My position has not changed. Go fuck yourself.
The United States military have taken their lead from Israel (who in fairness adapted a lot of what the US did in Iraq and Afghanistan in the first place) by heavily bombing civilian targets in Yemen, in defense of Israel's genocide. A few days ago they bombed the cancer hospital and their main targets are civilian housing and energy infrastructure. Casualty numbers climbing steadily in Gaza too, with continuing direct threats of mass murder from senior Israeli officials. The end logic of this and the starvation campaign appears again (as was mentioned last year) to be to force Palestinians into Israel-controlled camps if they want food, from where they will be processed and removed to somewhere in East Africa. The political instability in Israel is encouraging however. Though unfortunately not out of any humanitarian concern, all of this is is not popular.
‘We want to live’: Rage at Israel fuses with ire at Hamas as protests rock Gaza In the enclave's largest demonstrations in years, Palestinians called for an immediate end to the war and elections to choose a new leadership. All of the bakeries in Gaza will be closed by the end of the day, as the food which entered during the ceasefire runs out and the IDF block all aid from entering. Imagine trying to explain this to your child. Fuck Israel.
Fuck them both. Israel Resumes Attacks From what I've gathered, neither side really cares about peace. All they want is that large strip of sand in the middle of nowhere. Everything else is just a facade. The only way this ends is for each and ever one of them (fighters and leaders, no civilians) to be dropped in the middle of a battlefield and let them kill each other until the last man. That's the only way this ends. We damn sure should be staying the hell out of it. This shouldn't be America or anyone elses problem.
