You decry all the people who were naive enough to buy into Obama's campaign propaganda, but a mere two years later you do exactly the same with the Teapublicans. And that is why the lot of you are irredeemable, hypocritical morons.
Not exactly. People on the right have been burned so many times that many of us, including me, are fully expecting the Republicans to be morons and blow it big time. We hope things will be different but if you asked us to bet on it? We'd bet against it or not bet on it at all.
Except most of us are watching the newly-minted Republican representatives with a cynical eye, quick to remind them that they're gone if they don't follow through. They're as good as on probation until they deliver something. Obama supporters were gushingly enthralled by the man and never questioned his capability or commitment. That's why they're so crestfallen now; their messiah has let them down.
It's not unlike replacing parts on your car while you're on a trip: If a tire blows out, you stop somewhere and buy whatever they've got to get you through the trip, even if it's shit. You don't have to like it, but you do have to get home. The Democratic congress is/was obviously broken. Since, as it stands, we need the Congress to keep going forward, we replace them with what's available, even if they're shit. Better something that kinda works, than something that has already failed.
Well, not all of them. Some of them, though. Same thing happened with Sarah Palin. The Palindrones around here made the Obamatons look downright sensible.
My mind is clearer now At last All too well I can see Where we all Soon will be If you strip away The myth From the man You will see Where we all Soon will be Jesus! You've started to believe The things they say of you You really do believe This talk of God is true And all the good you've done Will soon get swept away You've begun to matter more Than the things you say Listen Jesus I don't like what I see All I ask is that you listen to me And remember I've been your right hand man all along You have set them all on fire They think they've found the new Messiah And they'll hurt you when they find they're wrong I remember when this whole thing began No talk of God then we called you a man And believe me My admiration for you hasn't died But ev'ry word you say today Gets twisted 'round some other way And they'll hurt you if they think you've lied Nazareth your famous son Should have stayed a great unknown Like his father carving wood He'd have made good Tables, chairs and oaken chests Would have suited Jesus best He'd have caused nobody harm No one alarm Listen Jesus do you care for your race? Don't you see we must keep in our place? We are occupied Have you forgotten how put down we are? I am frightened by the crowd For we are getting much too loud And they'll crush us if we go to far Listen Jesus to the warning I give Please remember that I want us to live But it's sad to see Our chances weakening with ev'ry hour All your followers are blind Too much heaven on their mind It was beautiful but it's sour Yes it's all gone sour Ah...
I don't remember any Palindrones. (Cute name btw. ) In fact, this is the first time I've even HEARD the word!
I don't expect anything great from the republicans, I just expect them to be slightly less dangerous than the democrats.
Actually no, the Palindrones were/are the people who feared Governor Palin. It was quite a pathetic display that some pretend never happened. Lemme take you back ... Around two years ago Senator Obama was riding a tidal wave of popularity, he could do no wrong and was a shoe in for the presidency, then one day after he delivered another righteous sermon. Governor Palin gave a speech as a vice-presidential candidate. The "Obamatons" panicked, for the first time it seemed as though Senator McCain might have a shot at the presidency. That's when the "Obamanation" lost it. Accusing the Governor of Alaska of being a bad parent for seeking the office of vice-presidency while having a young child, yet ignoring the fact Senator Obama had two small children of his own and was running for president, a much more time consuming position to say the least. Then it was virtually assured that Senator McCain would die on inauguration day making Governor Palin the new president. Seems the rumors of his pending death were greatly exaggerated. Next was that her son was actually her grandson, a tabloid worthy tactic to be sure. The governor's daughter was next to be smeared. I know, classy right? All sorts of bitching about her wardrobe, her hair, and intelligence. And what about her saying she could see Russia from her house? Didn't happen. But by that time Tina Fey had become Governor Palin to the "Obamatons." Again, one speech from a vice-presidential candidate transformed into Palin vs. Obama. And to be fair she was much more qualified than a community organizer to be president. The treatment of Governor Palin well illuminated the character of donkey fanatics. And that character is petty and small, a win at all costs mentality, even sexism is okay if it helps the cause. Cuz it's all about winning, not about any legitimate political issue. So no 14thDoctor, the Palindrones and "Obamatons" aren't in opposition, they are one in the same. The Obama faithful are the ones who created the fear of a female vice-president. Ironically, Senator Obama would've won anyway, and all the sophomoric assholery wasn't necessary. And yet still the "Obamatons" can't deem their behavior as anything short of divine.
I find little difference between the DNC and the GOP. Yet the difference between each party's fans is enormous.
And the Palidrones are still going after her with both barrels. They most certainly fear her even more now that Obama has been shown to be crap.
