Libertarians 86% Green Party 72% Democrats 59% Constitution Party 58% Republicans 56% Conservative Party 54% Socialist 13% Almost every single race has me at 57% agreement with one candidate and 54% with the other, which is a pretty good indicator of how similar they all are.
On the Compass, got 0.5 on the economic axis, -4.31 on the social, which I think makes me a deci-conservative, hemi-libertarian... Still hate a lot of the questions on it - "is a mothers first responsibility to be a homemaker?" As in play the housewife? No. Be a mother? Yes. A lot of people seem to forget childcare doesn't exist for the benefit of the child. "Companies unethically exploiting plant genetic resources" Well, duh, Monsonto. Does that mean companies shouldn't be allowed, or that someone needs to taser the Monsanto board between the legs until they're in a puddle of their own piss and tears? "It's a waste of time to try and rehabilitate some criminals?" Well, yes, but it'd be a bigger waste of time trying to differentiate, so try and rehabilitate them all anyway. And so on. On the iside with, I got: UKIP: 69%, Tories: 68%, LD: 39%, Plaid: 36%, Labour: 31% With the breakdowns: Economy: UKIP, Conservative Environment: Labour, LD, Greens Foreign Policy: BNP, UKIP Education: LD Healthcare: UKIP Domestic: None Immigration: LD, Plaid Social: Labour, LD, Conservative and SNP Transport: Plaid, Greens Curiously there isn't a cat in hells chance I'll vote UKIP due to their immigration and same-sex marriage stances. Chances are I'll vote for a local indie depending on their stance.
Like @John , I'm getting more liberal as I age. Although, I started out more centrist than firmly conservatives. As for individual political parties, I agree with what the problems are and the general idea of what should be done to address the problems, but completely differ on the specifics. For example, the issue of welfare recipients being required to work if able. It might be a good idea to allow a community service option, or other ways that will allow people to give back to the system. As far as I know, this option isn't being discussed by anyone anywhere. Also, in general, I think politics is a bunch of bullshit that doesn't do anyone any good and we'd be better off with something else.
Every time I take this, I'm astonished how bad the questions are. "It's important to stop beating your wife. Agree or disagree." My score was pretty much what it has been for years: 8, -2.
