Jesse should have listened to Taya Kyle's attorney. My opinion of him has pretty much hit rock bottom.

    Fucking douchebag! :muad2:

I remember when this happened. Kyle was posting on a board that I am on and recounted this story. There were witnesses. Remember kids, its only slander or libel when it's not true. I hope that Ventura gets raped by otters, in his ass, while strapped to the hull of a submarine while it's shot into space.

Didn't he take off and become some property baron in Mexico a few years ago? I can see the mindset that would lead to someone wanting to leave the country due to corruption and overreach. But, Mexico!? Talk about out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Certainly no corruption or overreach there. :whacko:

If it's true I hope the widow is able to contact each and every witness.

So just another former FOX reporter with ambitions toward a GOP Senate seat, then?

Well, either way, stick a fork in that ambition.

There were maybe five minutes there in the 90s when I thought Jesse Ventura was kinda cool.

Those five minutes are sooooooooooo over.

This is the guy that started the "TrashTV" trend that lead to shows like Jerry Springer, et al.

IIRC, Geraldo was at one time a pretty decent respected correspondent on shows like 20/20. He did tend to participate in some sensationalistic stuff like running with the bulls in Spain.

It was later during his talk show days that he became a caricature.

He later edged his way back to respectful work. Though he did play a big role in making post Katrina New Orleans seem worse than it was.

Geraldo's always been a cheesy attention hound. I remember watching him on 20/20 when I was a kid and thinking that.

Anyone remember his live television special in which he opened Al Capone's vault? It was all overly dramatic build-up and, when they got the vault open, there was pretty much nothing in it.

Don't care about Ventura or his stupid lawsuit, but causing "the perception of insensitivity" among the irrational, melodramatic masses isn't sufficient cause to alter any decision. I REALLY wish people would stop raising their kids to believe their delicate little emotions are the most important things in the whole wide world.

I liked pretty much everything he had to say in his book. Don't know much besides that, but he had a lot of commonsense middle-of-the-road positions not confined by any particular set of ideologies.

So let me get this straight. Party A believes he was libeled by party B, sues B for redress. B dies, leaving to his estate (ie the wife) earnings partly derived from alleged libel? And some argue the earnings should now be protected? Seems like the judge made the right call. It's pathetic how some folks think Party A should be denied his day in court because they happen to like Party B.

Party A had his poor little ego bruised, and wanted to punish party B with the weight of the legal system, because he couldn't take him.

    No one fucking said that.

What do you get out of lying?

I think his reasons are petty, and juvenile, and unfounded, but let the nasty knucklehead knock himself out.

Probably, certainly, perhaps, and now you understand.

I do think the judge ruled correctly. I believe that Party A is a fucking whiny douche bag for filing the suit in the first place.

One can't argue that the case shouldn't go forward because the accusation of libel has no merit. To decide that is the whole point.

The lawsuit may be legal, but Jesse's a douchebag for doing it.
