How does it affect me though? I mean I believe people when they say there is a huge wage gap, and that's a bad thing, but I'm not feeling the pinch, and I'm no millionaire*. It's night and day how much better off I am now than in 2009 (read as unemployed). I've got a good job, a nice truck and a car that are 10 years old, but they're paid for. I got a nice house on a decent amount of land that will be paid for in five years or so. I understand how it's hitting blue collar type workers hard, but I'm not feeling the angst from the wage gap.

Oh, hell, I'm doing much better now than I was in 2009, too. But, I'm doing half as well as my 1980 counterpart. My purchasing power is 40% less and I work longer hours.

On the other hand, the executives in my company are making 400% more than their 1980 counterpart.

It's not about *right this minute*. It's about an overall trend. Your children, if you have any, will be the first generation since the Great Depression to have a lower standard of living that their parents.

It's interesting, the perception gap. I don't feel that Bernie is any more or less trustworthy than Hillary. I think he was more of a dreamer and less likely to achieve his stated goals. I think Hillary has been maligned since the 90's (whitewater, etc.) and a generation of people have grown up "knowing" she was crooked without questioning the sources of this information.

I love that GOOD OLD BOYS record! His most solid, consistent work EVER! I swear the next he comes up in a conversation and some bonehead says "oh the Toy Story singer!" or "that guy who did Short People" I'll ending up on the news for kicking their ass! :bang:

Bernie is certainly committed to his cause, no one disputes that. Even the right doesn't dispute it. You're right though, he's a total dreamer and he lives in Fantasy Land. And not only is he committed, he should be committed! That being the case, Hillary has been in one shit storm after another and a reasonable person cannot look at her and see the power craving look in her eyes. There's no way she's anywhere close to being as trustworthy as Bernie. Not in a million years.

But the fascist right turned out to be the worst of the two. It was religion disguised as, what else, ALT SCIENCE! Why? if anything went wrong, they could blame it on science. Trump seems to be Stalin, but Pence might be the real danger.

His albums are a tad uneven. I like Harps & angels, and I really like Land of dreams.

Agree with you there! That's why Good Old Boys is his best - it's very consistent. He's at his best judging him on individual songs. Sail Away is another great song of his, and It's Money That Matters.
