When my kids were a year and a half, there were times I'd get so mad at them I couldn't see straight, mostly becuase they were getting into stuff I didn't want them to get into, but never, not once, did I think to dump a pot of boiling water on one of them.

I've always heard that prison populations frown on anyone convicted of injury of any kind to a child but until I hear about him getting kitchen duty and having his head "splashed" in the pot of potatoes I won't be satisfied.

I don't know which is worse: that these kinds of "people" walk among us, the kind that kill babies and rape dogs, or that I'm so desenitized to these kinds of stories to the point that it doesn't even really evoke an emotional response to me any more.

You know, there's no guarantee the kid wouldn't have grown up to cure cancer or develop the warp engine, or just be a good and decent human being. Granted, the odds were stacked against him doing those things though. Between his mother's brilliant taste in men, his outlandish neo-African name, and living in the hood, he already had a bunch of strikes against him and there was a fine possibility that at some point in his life he was going have a rap sheet, but then again, that kid might have been one of the success stories.

Something similiar (but less severe) just happened in my city. A dude whipped an 18 month old with a belt. The child survived. During the trial his mother (70 years old) tried to bribe/threaten witnesses who would testify against him. :santa_shocked:
