    Beer Review #154

Beer: Old Milwaukee Ice: Brewed Since: 1994 By Stroh Brewing Co. (Pabst), Milwaukee, Wisconsin
    Type of Beer: Ice Beer

    Color: Dark Amber Yellow
    Smell: Very clean grainy smell
Taste: Very mild for an Ice beer, very good
Drinkability: I could knock back a few of these.

Overall: New to our area, Old Milwaukee Ice has been around since 1994. I saw it at the store for $2.99 a six pack of 16 ounce cans and had to try it. I must say I am impressed how good and mellow this is. This might be better than Genesee Ice. [IMG]

    Beer review #166

Beer: Weidemann Special Lager: Brewed Since: 1870 by the George Weidemann Brewing Co, Newport, Kentucky
Type of Beer: Bohemian Style Lager

    Color: Pale Yellow
    Smell: Lemony grain scent
Taste: Has a light lemon tang to it, but not bad
Drinkability: Very smooth (As Maddy would say, a lawnmower beer)

Overall: I went to Newport JUST to get this beer (One of the fond ones of my youth), only to find this. It's not a bad beer by ANY means but it is NOT the Weidemann beer I remember. It's different. At the premium price it's being sold at, it won't be something I buy again. [IMG] [IMG]

ON A SIDE NOTE: After being critical of their beer on their facebook page they removed my comments twice!! But cannot silence me here on MY own forum..

    Beer Review #178

Beer: Steel Reserve 211: Brewed Since: 1998 by SAB Miller/Coors, Milwaukee Wisconsin
Type of Beer: High Gravity Lager (High Alcohol Content)

    Color: Deep Golden Yellow
    Smell: Very strong beer smell
Taste: WHOOOO That's strong and sweet. Yet very smooth
Drinkability: Once you get past the strength, it's not a bad beer, but more than a few would give you a headache.

Overall: Once a beer only bums and hobo's would drink has now gone mainstream, The HIGH alcohol content (8.1%) is what draws the college crowds, plus it's DIRT cheap. My 24 ounce can was
only 99 cents.. A few of these and you'd be DRUUUUUUNK... [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
