Wife started a msn class online and is printing crap left and right. (but not both sides.)

Any ideas about a good cost effective duplexing laser printer?

Might take a look at this Brother printer. Duplexing and network capability for $130. Looks like you need to buy toner separately on this one.

There's a non-open-box version of that same model here, but it's $50 more, and still doesn't appear to come with toner.

Looks interesting. Toner's about $50 for a cartridge. specs look good.

I've been looking at this one too. It has fairly good reviews.

I've always been an HP biggot, but theirs are pricey for the good ones, and the cheap ones are... cheap.

edit: the brother is much cheaper to run on retail cartridges. on ebay compatibles they're less too. reviews are about the same. Brother wins.

    Any last words?

Brother seems to have had a technological renaissance as of late. I've got their laser printer/scanner/copier, and it's just fantastic. Miserly with toner, quick switch-on to first page out time, pretty fast, and easy to use. A bit noisy though.
