Just for shits & giggles, I searched a few pages of threads between February & September 2013. I was curious to see who was participating at that time that is no longer around. Here's the results:

Now, admittedly, some of these people had started to fade away before Sept. 2013 when the ownership change was announced in Lanzman's "Winds of Change" thread. But quite a few of them had been regular contributors up until that point.

That's pretty long list of folks who have simply stopped posting here cold turkey. See, the problem is that we're losing people left & right, but we're not replacing them.

Currently, if you factored out the posts by Ancalagon, Gul, John and garamet, exactly what would you have in the Red Room? Those four easily make up at least half of everything that's being posted.

I've only been here for a few months, but I'm not going anywhere unless I get banned. This level of hell is way better than TNZ. Just my two cents.

Your list is inaccurate. Of the 33, four left over rep*, four left before the changeover and all but one of them gave RL reasons, one fell off the planet, and one disappeared after Election Day because Romney lost. The rest (except for Akuma - did we ever actually have a poster named Akuma?) are still here. At least two have changed their usernames, so you might not recognize them. The others simply don't post every day.

*Oh, and you missed at least one Mighty Rep Warrior, so your list should be 34, with more than two-thirds still here.

 

Plus, it's Flashlight, so who gives a fuck?

 

The facts don't lie Rick. The list is not inaccurate. And, I already offered that the reasons for people leaving were varied and in some cases pre-dated the ownership change. The rest of your post is a total fabrication.

 

90% can disappear, but at least we still have the Bronie Pedophile.

 

It's just so much fun watching how often and how profoundly he can be wrong. Look at the post just after yours...he doesn't even know who he's talking to.

I agree we've lost too many members, however, of that list, only three actually left due to ownership change to my knowledge. In fact most of them either have posted recently or haven't posted for years.

Regardless, what would Flashlight and Volpone have WF do to retain and attract new members? Its all well and good bitching about where we are at, lets hear some solutions rather than endless posts, which really are nothing more than trolling for the sake of it. And lets not forget, Volpone having a problem with who runs the board is not exactly something new.
