I'm surprised this slipped under Wordforge's radar. Is this something to get excited about or not?

Yay, and 2008 is the year of the Linux desktop.

    As were 2007,2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001 and 1999

The Barr-Paul alliance won't get Barr into the White House, but it probably will ensure that McCain doesn't get in there either.

I'm afraid the two parties will continue to hold the power until the problems caused by the redistribution of the people's money outweigh its benefits.

Even then, I suspect it may take bloodshed to loosen their death grip on our nation.

Because her candidacy would be more legitimate than either Barr's or Paul's. :bergman:

So what would those of you who dismiss third parties and their supporters have us do?

I want Barr in there. Or Paul.

Apart from that I think Obama will do far less damage than McCain. Both of them will be FDR 2: Electric Boogaloo, Obama will at least lack that lust for war and empire that McCain seems to dream of.

Unfortunately I think you are correct. The two parties will do anything and everything they can to maintain their power and control over the people.

Pretty much, but the bloodshed wont just be limited to political parties.

It'll be the French Revolution all over again.

If you ever want proof the Libertarian party is a complete joke this is it. They managed to nominate a Republican who supported:
    -the war on drugs
    -the Defense of Marriage Act
    -the Patriot Act
    -the Iraq War
    -banning Wicca in the military

But what else do you expect from the party that thinks Americans are going to start shooting each other for the libertarian cause when they can't even get them to mark a ballot in the election booth.
