    Cut to the chase. I need someone to just chat with me in English. If there's any group of people from here, then I'd like to join it too.

    My motto is to develope my English and my thinking. I feel like surrounded by fools people around me. They're judgmental, insulting and pushing me down in any way possible. I'm not some star who gets bullied btw. It's just the way it is here.

    I did a quiz in a website just now. Prevention; it says I've signs of depression. And it can be kicked out by being energetic and active.

    What i miss the most is a little appreciation. Please help me. If you're free, anyone of you, just talk with me. Share with me. Help me regain my self esteem.

    You don't need people to tell you who you're but i guess I'm just not strong enough for that.

    I feel for ya, but the Blue Room or Green Room might be a better fit for this. The Blue Room is more blog/personal and is blocked from view unless @gul or @shootER approves access.

    I hope you're able to feel better and that we can help you out.

    My honest suggestion is to expand your circle of friends. Find ones who don't treat you badly. Try getting out of your comfort zone and do something you wouldn't normally do. Join a sports team, look for online activity groups like meetup.com or Vavi, maybe join a hiking group or chess/game club, consider lessons on something like dancing or cooking. The idea is to get out and meet people you would not normally meet. Heck, even joining a church group might get you what you are looking for.

    Of course, nothing beats find a girlfriend/boyfriend for companionship. Why not give online dating a try? You might only meet some new friends or you mayeet the love of your life but it will certainly be an experience.

    Some recent studies indicate that depression might actually be caused by inflammation. They noticed that MRI scans of people who are depressed also show, well, inflammation - from unknown infections and whatnot. Doctors have long noted that people have a sickness response, which involves not moving a whole lot, laying around, avoiding friends, and feeling down. That's to help you recover from illness and keep from spreading a contagion. What was never asked is if people who just act sick (lethargy, depression) are actually sick with some chronic but mild illness.

    It would be ironic if all the SSRI's and other drugs for depression were supplanted with some aspirin, anti-inflammatories, antifungals, or antibiotics.

    Answering the thread title, I thought Jon Pertwee's "Liz" was best.

    I think it may help if you posted a photo or two of yourself so we can better understand where your issues come from.

    Oh, and thank you in advance.

    @Vtrendzzy

    Check out a smartphone app called HelloTalk. It's for language exchange. It will connect you to native English speakers who also want to learn your native language, whatever that is.

    I'm constantly bombarded with messages with cute Korean girls trying to practice English. The challenge is to sort out the ones that also want to fuck me.

    I think I'd find room on my ship for her to hang her shingle. But imagine what another captain - like Kirk - would have done with that?
