So, a new character joins the cast tonight. And something "momentous" happens. We may also discover that someone we thought was dead is very much alive... :soma:

Yeah the momentous thing will be some shit like the tin opener breaks and Locke fashions a wooden spike to get at a tin of beans.

Well, not quite as "momentous" as I thought. Naomi arrives on the island, and she knows who Desmond is (was she sent by Penny?). And she has the picture of Des and Penny in her book?

Did anyone catch the easter egg at the end of the episode? There's a picture sitting on the monk's desk when Des walks in to turn in his monk uniform. The camera quickly pans across it. It shows the monk and another person we should recognize from a previous episode. :soma:

I'm now beginning to suspect that Charlie might not die. After all, they've been teasing us with this prospect for several weeks now, but to me it's beginning to smell like a red herring.

Recent spoilers have said that at least 5 more deaths will occur before the end of the season. Who could these people be? If reports that the season finale will feature an all-out battle between the Losties and the Others (who have come to "purge" them from the island), then I suppose it could be anybody.

    Many are now speculating that
will die. I don't know about this. In terms of his backstory there doesn't seem to be much else to tell, but if the rumors of his father still kicking around are true, it wouldn't make much sense to off him now, would it?

Basically, amongst the current cast, here's how I see things:

    Hurley: safe for now

    Kate: safe for now

Sawyer: safe for now (because he has to be the new leader of the Losties, according to Hurley? Does this offer a clue?). But Sun hasn't yet revealed his role in her kidnapping by Charlie. What will happen when that comes to light?

Sun: safe for now (they're not going to kill a pregnant woman)

Jin: 70/30 against dying. There's more story to tell with him trying to escape Mr. Paik. And don't they want him around for the birth of his child?

Sayid: every time there a rumor of a death, people point at Sayid. He doesn't seem to have family or any ties to the outside world. But there's more story to tell with his seach for Nadia. OTOH, if there's going to be a all-out battle, it would make sense that as the Lostie with military experience, he'd be the one on the front lines.

Charlie: doesn't seem to be much else to tell of his backstory. They've abandoned the heroin addict plotline. But Sun hasn't yet revealed that it was Charlie who dragged her into the jungle - what will happen if and when that info comes to light? I just have a feeling that they're going to pull a big misdirection with all the Charlie/Desmond stuff. Locke's Vision Boone said Charlie & Claire would be allright, "for now". So who's correct? Vision Boone or Precognitive Desmond?

Claire? Even though she's useless for anything other than eye candy, I don't think they'll kill the baby Aaron's mother.

No, that wasn't Nadia. The new character's name is Naomi.
