They really do need a full battery of psychological tests before they let people buy a gun.

There is no way the guy in that mugshot is 26. He looks like he's in his late 30s or early 40s.

He greeted her at the door with a gun in his hand, right after they'd had an argument, and she walked inside? :wtf:

Allegedly our DNA double-helix is going to become a triple-helix, and we're going to evolve to a higher plane of consciousness.

I think I show admirable restraint not to publicly ridicule people who tell me these things. Otherwise intelligent people.

    :wtf:

Wouldn't a triple helix have more issues unwinding and be prone to far more mutations and death?

It's been a double helix for 4 billion + years and anyone who says it will evolve a certain way because they want it to doesn't know what they're talking about. The reason it has lasted as a double for so long is because it is stable and it works and there is no impetus to change other than random mutation which is not directionally driven as some people seem to think.

Kinda like how some people think we've made "better" water through alkalizing and ionic micro-clusters.

And before we allow people onto the internet who think "they" have the moral authority to "let" anyone do anything.

With his enraged neg repping of EVERY post I make it is pretty clear Muad would be found to be psychologically unfit to own a fire arm. Which just goes to show how badly such an exam is needed as currently mentally unstable sociopathes like Muad still have access to anything sharper than a spork.

The truly funny part is there is no doubt Muad would easily pass such a test while CaliforniaSon would probably be immediately tossed into the nearest asylum.

So if in your mind anyone answers yes to any of these questions, they should not be allowed to own a gun, eh?

All the more reason to acquire a gun.

Some odd months ago my son asked that we not take a Christmas vacation. I asked him if he was worried about "the end of the world" and if so what about it. He said that he was worried about it. He was worried about all the nut jobs that would be out and about and he wanted to stay home where it would be safe from them.

I think there should be a full battery of psychological tests to be allowed to drive, and to be allowed to have children.

The children part would be hard to enforce, but driving should be much harder than it is here. Raise the age to 18, institute much more rigorous testing, quicker revocations, and regular retesting (more frequent after 60).

I think there should be some reflex testing to get a DL. Person comes up to the DMV counter with application paperwork, make a loud noise (air horn, drop something heavy on the counter, etc.). If it takes them more than a second to respond/flinch, deny their application.

People with dull reflexes shouldn't be driving nowadays.
