They should settle with him outside of court because it's the right thing to do. Someone in a position of power in the Marine Corps needs to step up and make that happen. Don't force him to go to court and just use the Government can get away with negligence so we don't have to pay you excuse. The Marines need to prove they indeed do have the values they sell to their new recruits.
Tex your routine is awesome! Take that material on the road - you'll totally kill. "Higher ranking person stepping up to the plate".....that shit put me on the floor! WTF? Let me rephrase that.....WTF? The Marines whole mindset is all about being "nimble" and able to adapt on a moments notice. That's why they are the "first ones in" to kick ass and the The Army/Air Force set up logistics and hunker down for the long haul. Anywho, on a sort of related note, my son hasn't gotten paid a dime yet since he joined The Army on May 25. What's the over-under on when The Army actually straightens out his pay? My spidey-sense says 1 September. It could take several months, who knows?
They brought a guy in when I was in basic at Great Lakes briefly, he had been out for a year, with paperwork. He wrecked his car, and was pinched by SP's for "desertion". He went home after a couple of days.....after the Navy realized it fucked that poor bastards paperwork up when he was discharged.
I did read the post, you misunderstand. I'm saying hang him because he was a soldier. No such thing as being "honorably" discharged from the killing profession without a noose around one's neck.
Perhaps technically, but we all know it's really in Orange County dammit! Basically the base is in San Clemente, in the southern end of Orange County. And there is a big stretch of nothing before the nearest city in San Diego county.
