    We can lock it and I think remove him from the user list. But I wouldn't favor deleting any posters. If he changes his mind, it's pretty hard to undo.

    Yeah, I don't think I ever actually deleted any user accounts (at least not on purpose!) but would lock them and scramble the password.

    Looks like what you did was select that as his primary user group, but didn't actually add him to the group. You need to check the box, and then actually leave him in registered users.
