I'd love to see Venom done right in the next Spider-Man movie.

Should've gotten white co-stars, then they would've had cheese and crackers. :ramen:

I updated. I'm gonna see Baby Driver, and Dark Tower to round it out.

I wasn't going to see baby driver, but it's been getting good reviews, so I'll definitely go.

Baby Driver was pretty damn good. Sputters near the end, but still very solid.

No spoilers, but if you see Baby Driver, be...aware...of the scene very near the beginning when Baby walks down the street. It is quietly a fantastic sequence, and most people won't even notice it.

Managed to catch Spiderman the other day - definitely one of top notch MCU movies.

They got pretty much everything nailed, and Vulture is probably the best actual villain since Loki, and his origin is actually tied to Stark rather than Parker. In fact Phases 1-3 could be subtitled "Tony Stark's History Of Being a Dick & The Consequences Thereof"

I quite liked that they used his history to make a few things you'd normally see coming a mile off, seem a bit out of the blue, and his path - which is a well worn path as a theme - seem fresh. Which given this is the second reboot of Spidey in a fairly short space of time is pretty impressive.

Lots of unforced humour too. Lots of films the humour just seems jarring, like the studio said "laffs here innit?" and the director did their best, but the films flow feels like you've just crossed into a different frame of acceleration and there's a bit of wobbling, bit of vertigo until your brain gets used to things. None of that here, just flows.

Only thing I'd be negative about is one of the final battles becomes a bit messy visually, but given the location that probably couldn't be helped.

Of the stingers, the second really depends on your humour - if you don't mind being jerked about a bit, wait, if you do, save it for YouTube.

Sony really need to not fuck this tie-up with Marvel.

    Saw it.

Not the best Marvel film, but definitely above average.

Doesn't dethrone Spider-Man 2, though is definitely more fun.

    Some good laughs.

Love the theme that plays over the Marvel logo at the beginning.

Keaton's Vulture is the most well-developed villain in a long while, and Keaton is great in the role.

Liked the technical enhancements to the Spidey suit.

Liked the Michelle character but totally didn't dig her

    Marisa Tomei. Sigh.

The scene in the car with Peter on his way to the dance was superbly done.

Best last line of a movie EVER!

The after credits scene will either amuse or annoy the hell out of you. I was amused.

Very good, though not quite great. Hard-pressed to say whether this or Wonder Woman is better.

@Skrain Dukat you should probably spoiler tag that. It isn't hard to deduce what the theme is based on what you wrote.

No, what you wrote just now. An easily deducible theme that counts as a spoiler.

Well, I guess I'm not going to argue about it anymore. This is all I said:
    That contains no spoilers.

Someone reading that (who wasn't already wise to what it actually is) would have no idea what I was talking about. It's just a statement that I like the Marvel logo theme.
