I personally find ACAB offensive. I know there are good cops out there, men and women who are in it for the right reasons. They're not perfect by any means, but they're not bastards. That said, posting treacly crap like this right now is tone deaf at best and blithely dismissive of valid concerns about police at worst. We obviously know the OP's motives. No, not all cops are bastards. But now is not the time for stories about cops helping little old ladies. Attempts at deflection like this are ridiculously manipulative and disrespectful.

It isn't an "opposing viewpoint." It's a feel-good human interest story posted to deflect from the conversation, not add to it. Like I said, there are obviously decent cops out there. Honestly, I'd guess that most cops in the US are good cops for the most part. And while there ARE systemic issues with the police, we shouldn't throw out the baby with the bathwater. But it's a conversation we need to take seriously, and the OP's post is just irrelevant bullshit. But don't let things like nuance get in the way of owning the libs, bra.
