One of the reasons I left the Evangelical movement was because of the cruelty. I still see these same "Godly" men and women talking about how trans people should be shot, laughing at the idea of them going to hell, claiming they should be neutered or imprisoned to protect children. There isn't anyone so hateful as an Evangelical Christian Trump supporter. When they tell you they love you, as a sinner, they are lying. They are more like people who are running from a lion, and can only hope you are slower than they are, spiritually speaking.
There are people who get it and people who don't, Johnny. This Christian doesn't want harm to come to anyone. In fact, this Christian hopes people get the help they TRULY need.
And easier to do favors for cash. Some businesses can fork over cash to keep their illegals. Maybe even states can be overlooked for favors.
We don't need to lie about removing criminals. As opposed to flying them into the country wholesale in the middle of the night. Deport their asses.
Fucking fuck Question-Is there anyone left at Guantanamo? It seems not. That sounded awful. I'm so fucking scared for the people they are detaining.
The gitmo people all got flown back to the US apparently. https://thehill.com/policy/defense/5192805-trump-guantanamo-migrants-flights/amp/
Y'know what everyone's burying the lede on though? Look how easy and quick it is to get everyone out of fucking Gitmo. Obama spent 8 fucking years going "ohhh ohhh, I want to do it, but I can't do it; it's sooo complicated, oohh!!! You just don't understaaand!! ".
Yeah, Obama helped contribute to the shit show we're in now. His abuse of power created a runway for Trump to take off.
I've pointed out before: Fewer people, by far, were deported under Bush than under Obama. That's just one example. It was also Obama who really ramped up the whole "kill 'em all, let God sort it out" drone strike strategy. There's plenty to criticize Bush about, but I think his abuse of executive power was relatively limited compared to Obama, Trump, and Biden.
It was politically complicated, not logistically. Never was. Obama never had a court order requiring him to do it.
I'll give you that but the road to the hell we're in now was opened in large part by policies enacted in the name of "safety" post-9/11 that Obama would leave in place or expand upon.
I have a hard time blaming Bush for some of his pushes for safety post-9/11. Hell, even I briefly considered dropping out of college and enlisting. It was a crazy time. Obama did not have to, and should not have, continued on that same path.
It was a bit more nuanced. I think the border patrol acted correctly. https://www.bostonglobe.com/2025/03/19/metro/ri-doctor-brown-university-deportation-lebanon/
I wish there was a hell so that modern Christians who delight in cruelty would just go up like a Roman candle.
