It sounds like this person had a lot of issues that needed working out, and had been exhibiting warning signs for a very long time.

Mental healthcare in this country needs a drastic overhaul. Right now, our policy seems to be more of a "suck it up, it's not a real disease" stance than any real effort to address serious issues that eventually become tragedies. No one had to die, no one.

Yeah, this is way more than being transgender. This might not even be trans person since being trans is not about hating your gender. This person might be, I don't know. Seems like this kid had a ton of hate issues and who knows where it stemmed from. It might be from unresolved self hatred for being born in the wrong gender, and it might be from other things.

I am waiting for the people who are going to try to pervert this into a trans thing while trans people extremely rarely suicide while killing others despite bullying and abuse that might motivate them to take revenge.

We can and should do a whole lot better with mental health issues as it would save many lives. However, people are going to die from those who lose it due to mental problems. It is like terrorism in that you cannot find every one before it is too late.

Certainly not everyone, but it sure would save a great many, and I think that's worth pursuing.

Like I said,I agree we can do so much better, and it would help a lot of people and stop a lot of pain. There are still always going to be those people who slip through and we have to learn how to deal with that without freaking out a nd wrecking what we have.

The problem is drug companies that advertise anything and everything. I've tried just about everything drug wise to combat anxiety and guess what, the only thing that truly works is playing guitar. That may sound like an argument for suck it up and be a man, but it's not, it's hard to fight anxiety and I wish there were a magic pill to make it go away and I wish I could afford a therapist, but there isn't and I can't, so I have to deal with it myself and it's not easy.

if you are retired and working in a grocery store to keep busy or supplement your pension or whatever, I can see that I guess. But if it's your career aspiration, that seems depressing to me.
I even feel sorry for the managers. Granted they might make decent money but the vast majority are fat and soft looking with a comb-over. It just doesn't seem like a very testosterone-inducing kick-ass job as far as jobs go. I just can't picture a group of them telling "war stories" about the time their distributors mixed up Clementine with Valencia oranges or the big "syrup spill" on aisle four.

Why should a job be "testosterone-inducing kick-ass". A job should be to make money enabling you to do the things you want to do. Not an end in itself.

One of my friends was head coach at Strong and he certainly didn't out work everyone else. He had three daughters the youngest of which was having major health problems as an infant and naturally he spent as much of his championship season as possible with her and the rest of his family..
