My first instinct is to say yes, provided the person you received it from agrees. HOWEVER!!! This is an Admin decision and must wait on attention from Tamar or Elwood. So please don't until you hear from one of them.
Not without permission of the other party. The rule doesn't specify a location, just the act, so conceivably you could be banned. But in honesty, unless you're really out to spite someone and think this is a clever loophole, I wouldn't count on it.
Very technically I would say the rules allow it, since legally you can reproduce a message you have received from someone. However the attitude towards rules is more one of them being guidelines rather than a precise technical documentation, so I wouldn't try pushing them and it is possible you could get a warning. Like Lanzman said we'll need Elwoods word on the matter.
I assume you do not have the other party's consent, correct? I guess the rules allow it, but I would rather you didn't. I make no threats regarding warnings and the like, but if you go ahead, it could come back to haunt you later. After all, I won't be inclined to give favors when my request is spat upon.
How long before people are so picky about these things that someone specialised in wordforge rules will appear, offering consult on the rules for a small fee....?
Well, I wasn't going to request the other party's consent. Ah, I see. Thanks for the clarification. Boy! Am I glad I asked this question first. I was one click away from publishing the PM, and then I thought, "hmmm...maybe I should ask about this in the help desk first".
Just how the fuck would anyone know if you did it in the first place unless you post this thread? Or were you planning on posting at TK?
If you were to post it at TK and then link to it here, I would suspect it would be warnable. But then again, you probably get very little PMs of any substance to begin with.
I still think it's banable. The whole point of the rule is to protect privacy; as long as both parties are members of the board and the conversation happened on/refers to the board, it's enforceable.
