Re: Maybe its time fir Hillary to Pack it in and Quit! Her new (and already tiresome) catch phrase "let's get real" is turning into high irony.
Well, I can see why she wouldn't quit. Unless McCain wins this year, this is going to be her last chance to mount a credible run for the White House. It's pretty much all or nothing for her now.
I wouldn't put it past her to stay in it just to fuck over Obama and the rest of the party. That woman knows a thing or two about revenge.
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the margin of Obama's lead was padded due to her underhanded campaign tactics regarding superdelegates and pledge delegates alike being revealed.
Re: Maybe its time fir Hillary to Pack it in and Quit! Obama's catch phrase...'change you can believe in'...is ALSO tiresome.
Shes not going to quit. Plus a interesting scenario was brought up today on the Schnitt show that if she wins the big states still left in the race she can make a compelling case that she deserves the superdelegates votes as she has shown she can win the big electoral vote states and even though Florida doesn't count towards nomination she won that too. The only big "electoral vote" state Obama has won so far has been his home state. Every state hes won so far is small in terms of electoral votes. She can make the claim that she can win the general election over McCain because she will win those states with the huge electoral votes.
It doesn't matter. This nation is doomed, regardless of who wins the election. The system has been broken, cheated, and whored out for votes and special projects. We're circling the drain, and I'm absolutely certain that it's impossible to remove the cancer that is the professional politician from our government. Mark my words people: save up on commodities because the future's going to be fucking scary.
The writing is on the wall for Hillary. She has to win by 20 points in Ohio and Texas to get back in this and that aint happening. With all the polls coming out that show Obama has the potential to paste McCain while McCain beats Hillary, it's all coming apart.
Well she still has millions of dollars to spend on bribing and convincing delegates and super delegates to vote for her instead of Obama. Let's not forget the votes of the delegates do not have to reflect the will of the Democratic voters.
Hillary won't quit. They'll have to drag her ass kicking and screaming from the convention hall after Obama wins it.
Keep in mind that it is only 8pm out here. Also keep in mind that Obama is the closest thing to a Native Son (he grew up here) that Hawaii is likely to ever have running.
Haha! That stupid bitch! I love it when people who crave power fail and get it thrown back in their face. Of course, all politicians crave power, but Hilary Clinton seems to want it twice as bad as anyone else, thereby making her failure seem that much sweeter.
Let's face it, it's obvious Hilary only stayed with Bill to get this chance at the White House, hoping his cachet would automatically rub off on her. Nothing like making a fool of yourself for power and then failing to get that power in the end. I suspect if Obama gets elected, the next round of house/senate seat elections will see massive turnovers from D to R in a desperate attempt to get him in check, if any of his "changes" start heading for the light of day. Sooner or later, even the deeply stupid will begin to see that the magic money tree is their wallets and all the "free" goodies he says everyone has a "right" to actually costs a lot. At least, one hopes so.
It's fun to see the Dems go after each other. Maybe she will stay in and keep it ugly. The coalition is looking pretty tentative right now.
I definitely prefer Clinton to Obama--the main policy difference between the two seems to be that health care reform is at best DOA under a potential Obama administration and at worst Obama will poison the entire concept of health care reform for another generation, and the "why can't we all just get along" campaign is amazingly naive and holds no appeal to me--and I really think that Obama needs to do more to save the country from his followers rather than make political hay out of their Paulbotian devotion, but the way the Clinton campaign's taken screwing up, political blundering, and not knowing how to fight a fight to Kerryesque levels over the last month or so I'm inclined to agree with the premise of this thread. Can you feel my enthusiasm for the Democrats still left running for the White House? Alas, it's too late to get the press not to completely ignore John Edwards.
Yes. It is of the same nature as the enthusiasm those of us who lean to the right politically feel where John McCain is concerned. Sad, isn't it? At least this election has succeeded in putting most of us, left and right, in agreement with each other: We would all do better to go out for a night on the town together, than to get excited about voting for anyone...
