Dafne Keen is reportedly finished signing the deal to come back as older Laura/X-23. If so, Deadpool 3 really is going to tie up every last little loose end of the Fox-verse. https://comicbookmovie.com/deadpool...eturn-as-x23-for-deadpool-3-a208097#gs.1meslp
Kevin Feige says Tony Stark is never coming back. Says it would ruin his sacrifice in Endgame. So...you anti-wokists are stuck with Ironheart. https://www.darkhorizons.com/feige-marvel-wont-resurrect-tony-stark/
I mean, even though Feige is lord of all things Marvel. it's possible he could change his mind, be replaced or ordered to bring back RDJ Tony. They could set more Tony adventures between Infinity War and Endgame to not nullify his sacrifice. Or tgey can have variants/multiversal versions of him. The real sticking point is the need to pay RDJ a gajillion dollars to get him to re-assume the role. Back when Marvel thought that they could just develop pretty much any concept into a franchise that would clear $400m in box office, it was easier to think there was no need to. "We'll just throw together Great Lake Avengers and be good." With the Marvels flopping and few of the post-Endgame movies setting the box office on fire the way they used to, it might be too tempting to not pay RDJ a gajillion dollars since it will probably make Disney 3 gajillion dollars.
Ah, so that's what happened. "Give Hulk glove. Hulk snap metal man back to life." "No, you can't!" "Why not, director person?" "It would ruin his sacrifice!" "Okay. Hulk no understand dramatic unities. Hulk take your word for it." "Whaaat? Nooooo! Briiiiing me baaaack! I want to liiiiive with my daughter and hot wiiiiife!" "Shut up ghost, or the first multiverse movie I direct I'll wipe your family clean out of existence."
Yeah, where's the sexism? Ironheart is symbolically castrating Tony's ghost by being good at machines!
Ironheart building a suit she can only use in Wakanda represents quite the quandary for conservatives/libertarians. That suit is the product of Riri's brain sweat, so according to Ayn Rand, she should be able to blow it up to keep Shuri from being able to use it. But modern Republicans have sided with factories/networks/cable providers/ISPs for-fucking-ever, so Riri using Shuri's 3-D printer to make the suit has to take priority. But, they're both black women. Tricky, tricky, tricky....
Rumor: Wolverine is going to be 100% comic accurate by the end of Deadpool 3. He'll rip the sleeves off the suit we have seen, and wear the mask, which will have white CG eyes like the Deadpool mask. The on-set suit is alleged to have sleeves to protect Jackman from the elements due to his recent bout with skin cancer. https://comicbookmovie.com/deadpool...e-movie---possible-spoilers-a208258#gs.1yw00z
I know it’s not MCU, but I had to put this somewhere and it’s not quite worth it’s own thread.. so here ya go: I am so there for this one.
I think it's kind of funny that the MCU is build on Iron Man and RDJ was once one of the biggest trouble makers in Hollywood before rehabilitating himself.
MCU films have collectively made over $29-billion worldwide, and that's not including all the other money it makes from merchandising and other licensing. It ain't going anywhere. And the fact that that annoys you just fills me Schadenfreude. Happy Festivus!
I agree with you... but it's worth noting that Marvel Studios was not owned by Disney at this time and they were in a position where they had to prove themselves. I believe at some point, Jonathan Majors will get a chance to prove himself again. I hope. What disturbs me more is that the reason he was convicted is because he was "too aggressive" in trying to distance himself from the lady as she was putting him in a difficult position. He saw what was coming and tried his best to get out of it and she kept pursuing him.
What probably convicted him was his text messages after the fact. He came off as a manipulative asshole who was trying to gaslight his ex into withdrawing her claims because he was a great man on par with MLK and Obama. I think that those texts are what brought it over the top for the prosecution rather than the evidence pertaining to the underlying incident. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if there were racial dynamics at play either. (Majors is black and his ex is white). All this is not to say that Majors isn't guilty of the misdemeanor. Rather, these are factors that IMO helped increase the chances the jury was going to reach a guilty verdict.
No, it doesn't hasten the end of the MCU, because recasting Majors is fairly simple. The only actor that Marvel refused to recast is Chadwick Boseman, and it's probably only a matter of time that they bring someone in to play T'Challa. They probably would if they could have not caused director Ryan Coogler and the rest of the actors to revolt, and risk not duplicating the financial and critical success of the first film. Considering Marvel has established that variants can be of any race or gender or hell, species, they can cast whoever they want. Hell, they can decide that Kang isn't a villain that they want to go with anyway and center the next arc around Doom, the Beyonder, Galactus, the Phoenix Force or any number of villains that Marvel has in its stables. Marvel has had only one financial flop in The Marvels, so I'm thinking they are going to probably do fine for the foreseeable future. At some point, they are going to probably say "Hey, we want to make movies featuring Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, so we're either going to have to abandon the MCU or reboot or something."
Hollywood accounting and people's definitions will vary. But using the comparison of production budget vs. worldwide gross, only the Marvels so far is a financial flop, and depending n how you juice the numbers, it might make its way out of flop territory. I think the following doesn't account for the additional marketing budget expenses, or assets like streaming/Blu-ray/rental income. https://www.the-numbers.com/movies/production-company/Marvel-Studios Eternals and Quantumania were not as profitable as Disney projected or wanted, but they made their production budget back through box office. Maybe not with marketing. I think the only no-questions-asked flop of the MCU has been the Marvels.
Which is really unfortunate, because it was fun film and so much better than the snore-fest that was Eternals. It certainly wasn't the MCU's finest outing, but it definitely doesn't deserve the misogyny and hate that the CHUDs are giving it.
Haven't seen The Marvels yet but The Eternals is the only Marvel movie I haven't finished, it was awful
