sorry once you are under arrest other law enforcement agencies will dog-pile on you. It's not unique to immigrants. For example get pulled over for a turn signal being out, and they run your data and "holy shit!" you are taken in for an active bench warrant under "hold for another agency" meaning somebody, somewhere has an open active warrant on you. Shit like that happens to a few people I know. In for a penny, in for a pound. Not judging, just stating the obvious.
This is good news. We need all of our law enforcement working together at Federal, state, and local levels. When local and state level politicians undermine the rule of law for personal partisan political gain the country as a whole loses. The way the state Democratic Party here in California has been acting is disgraceful and they are deliberately undermining the rule of law as well as local authority by making it a state crime for local authorities to cooperate with federal authorities.
