The perception is it's a shithole because people tend to judge a whole state by the best known cities or geographical region. A lot of people think Arizona is one big desert. Tell that to someone ass-deep in snow in a 7,000 feet high AZ pine forest.
No doubt about it Michigan is a pretty state. Like all states. Except New Jersey. But with that said Michigan is still a crap state. Nice to visit. To live? To work? To own a business? Hell no.
As a Buckeye were raised to Hate Michigan, BUT, I have been there MANY times and it is a great state to visit. Battle Creek, Kalamazoo, Ann Arbor, all great places.. Another favorite is Luna Pier..
BTW I have some of that singer's CDs and saw him live once. His goal is to produce one CD for each state in the US.
Really? WTF is so special about Michigan? That video easily could have been taken in any of Canada's 10 provinces or at least 30 other U.S. states. What they didn't tell you is that, after finishing shooting, the videographer was carjacked and stabbed by some jobless Michigan resident.
On another happy note, the estimated number of stray dogs in Detroit has decreased from an alarmist 50,000 to more like 1,000. http://michiganradio.org/post/new-study-nowhere-close-50000-stray-dogs-detroit
Chuck, that's only the driest in ~23 years. Here we're on the way to the driest in 500 years (using tree ring data) and last year was the second driest since 1850.
