I bump an old thread, you get pissy. I start a new thread instead of bumping the old thread, and you get pissy. I'm starting to see a pattern here.
Best buy still sells DVDs? I have not bought a DVD in best buy in decades. I don't even think I have used a DVD in years.
It turns out that Disney has their home video business to <drumroll> Sony! This makes me think that there’s some kind of deal where Disney gets more use or is able to take back the Marvel rights Sony has.
How Long Will Your Blu-Ray Collection Last? ***SPOILER ALERT*** Nobody really knows, but in some cases it might be as short as 10 years.
I have noticed a couple of dead DVDs in my anime collection. I think it depends on the manufacturing of the specific run as I have tried to find used copies and the same issue seems to be present in those particular disks if acquired around the same time. It is why I took to ripping everything a while back. The only problem I have run into is a desire to do a better rip because I have more storage and power to my PC now and chose lower quality in the past because I did it myself. The other problem I have is I prefer some dubs of anime to others. I simply do not want a replacement for my Orion Akira dub (yes I like the campy old one) or the old ADV evangelion dubs. So I need to keep my copies as the newer versions are done with the newer actors and translations. Even the huge archives of pirating do not always have a copy of some stuff, and if you do have some obscure piece you want it might trickle down because there are few sources for seeding.
