Source Okay, I'm a Buffy fan, and I had heard about this and seen the sign at the Tivoli for this and thought it was a neat idea. I wasn't going to go see it or anything, but more power to those who would like to. But then this copyright bullshit comes along and axes it. This is absolutely ludicrous. The show has been off the air for a few years now. It's all on DVD and is syndicated like crazy on TV. What the hell are they worried about allowing showings in movie theaters? Copyright laws are absolutely ridiculous in this country AFAIC and I support efforts to re-examine them and update them for today's world.
Sadly it's because of things like legal precedent. If a company doesn't protect their intellectual property then it can make it much harder, or even impossible, to regain control when some bigger infringement comes along.
