Be very careful that, when you click the "Generate Backup" button to generate a backup, it is not actually the "Dump Database" button in disguise. :calli:

The buttons aren't labelled. We don't actually know which one to push, and plan to flip a coin.

I know one thing that is great about being a civilian, and I hope for your sakes it's different with the new software.

It's nice to not have an Edit button right next to the Quote button.

So humiliating ruining other people's posts instead of quoting them.

Don't lose my goddamned Blue Room thread, Nick. For at least 5 years I've been going "you know, I really ought to copy all this stuff offline. If I ever want to write a biography there's some good stuff here."

Of course I've never actually gotten around to doing it.

On that vein, if Dayton's thread gets "lost," I doubt anyone would hold it against you. :?:

I'm pretty sure that one and Volpone's were both marked for deletion. Something about database corruption and records specific to those threads.

Can this be done Monday night, since we'll probably have a big discussion in the Breaking Bad thread after the last episode?

Sorry, but the timing is centered around what's convenient for me, and Sunday's are my least busy day of work.

So assuming that DNS servers will take a while to correctly point to the new wordforge.net, is there an address we can use to get directly to it once it's up?

Okay, how do I link my avatar with the site where it's stored? I've tried to link to it, but it seems the new stuff only wants me to use something on my computer.

There is an extension add-on for XF, but deciding to use it is up to the big guys.

Yes, but probably not the first day or two. I plan to install it, but I want to wait until we know all the data migrated properly, etc. I don't want to get in the place of installing add-ons, only to find that we have to blow things up to re-do the migration. Probably by Wednesday, definitely on the early to-do list.
