    My favorite small town in NC is Bryson City. Love vacationing there. Between Raleigh and Charlotte, I'm more partial to Charlotte but unlike the half backs I would be living in the Ft. Mill / Tega Cay area, not up by Lake Norman. As for Fayetteville, the only reason I ever go there is the hit the pawnshops when I'm in Raleigh.

    I have to admit Chapel Hill sounds interesting too. As for crappy place... Every state has them. Fresno, Bakersfield, and Modesto (that whole section of the central valley really) is pretty much the arm pit of this state and I can understand why all the girls get pregnant as teens while the guys are usually arrested before high school is over. It should be considered child abuse to live there with kids.

    Chapel Hill was quaint, but it's really just a college town.
