Looks pretty cool - by Joss Whedon and with a cool staff (Nathan Fillion and Sean Maher, among others). :)

I know Whedon has a penchant for reusing cast, but this looks almost ridiculous in that regard. A third of the cast, and most of the major cast, has starred previously in a Whedon show, and more than half the cast has had at least a bit part working with Whedon before. Where's Felicia Day? :ualbert: ;)

Of course he always gets the most out of his actors, so there's not really a problem there.

That trailer looks amazing considering the entire film was shot in two weeks at Whedon's own home for NO BUDGET while he was take a brief break during post-production on The Avengers. He literally called up a bunch of friends to come over to his house and started shooting the movie. This was slapped together quicker than Dr Horrible, and from all the early reviews its a masterpiece.

I did wonder where he found the time lately. Guys like Whedon and Abrams are impressing: working non-stop and hardly losing their creativity.

Is the movie going to be black and white, or is that just for the trailer? None of the scenes from the trailer really used black and white very well, so I don't see the point in having it be black and white. It seems as though it was intended for color but they decided to add a B&W filter in post. That's my only complaint upon first impression--I'm willing to resist my urge to complain about the never-ending Joss Whedon hype because he's at least stepping out of his usual genre.

It looks interesting, a modern adaptation of Much Ado seems cool and the story is easily transferable for the modern era. I like the story, and I really enjoyed Kenneth Branagh's version (one of the few film adaptations of the story, actually).

Apparently Whedon has regular Shakespeare parties at his place, where actors he likes get together and indulge themselves and have fun performing the classics in an informal atmosphere. What this film is, is a bunch of friends getting together and putting on a play. It's like a fan film.

It's not like he's the only director who ever had a regular group of actors he likes to work with.
