Generally speaking, the final report the special counsel gives to the attorney general would be “confidential,” and the report the attorney general gives to Congress would be “brief.” - from the article. And that's what Barr is doing. Give him time. But the Democrats don't want the third report. They want the one that Mueller gave Barr. They want the confidential one.
All you really need to know about the intellectual credibility of Trump sycophants in one image. It's why I'm not trying to correct the quislings in this thread. It's a waste of time. All that is necessary is to wait.
I can't wait until all this shit is over and we can just go back to hating each other over Star Wars and Star Trek opinions.
Dude, they're American. They don't know how to make a cup of tea, much less have a storm in one. Seriously, they pretty much gave up after a particularly poor effort in 1773:
Investigations will continue despite submission of the Mueller report https://us.cnn.com/2019/03/24/politics/ongoing-investigations-manafort-gates-cohen/index.html
As a simple intellectual exercise? Sure. Beyond that, I take a more pragmatic approach towards the office of the most powerful human on earth over the last 70 years. I'll gladly talk to you about the way things should be until we're both old and gray. But, it would be a conversation that's divorced from the realities of politics involved. We've effectively created an office, which is held by a nearly infinitely small portion of the population, that is in some ways above the law. Can a President be removed from office peacefully? Yes, certainly. Can a President face civil actions after their term in office? Yes, certainly. Will a President ever face criminal action that could result in a sentence of confinement? Not a chance in hell.
wait for election night 2020 when the left can unleash their excuses and accusations. Their inevitable defeat will devastate them, but elevate their victim status so everyone will benefit.
I think most notable in all of this is that Trump remained silent on Twitter for nearly 2 days after the Mueller report was submitted. He's never done that before. And his first tweet was a simple good morning/MAGA. One would think if the report absolves him in any way, he'd have been taking victory laps on Twitter all weekend.
There is a very good reason for that though. Consider what would happen in the United States if you made presidents subject to losing their freedom once they were out of power. What would be the logical result of that?
This is completely false. Franklin Pierce was arrested for running over an old lady with his horse while President. Ulysses S Grant was arrested for speeding on his horse while President. Neither led to convictions, but they were nevertheless arrested.
I see reality quite clearly. The United States is the most powerful, broadest reaching empire in this history of planet earth. Will that always be the case? No, of course not. In fact, I think we are at or slightly past our zenith. But, Rome did not fall overnight nor did its replacement rise overnight. For anyone looking back, it was quite clear that the Roman Republic was in danger 200 years before it actually fell. We have the largest financial empire of any nation in all of human history. That will change, but not until something other than the US dollar becomes the world's foremost reserve currency. While you get into subjective terms in this area, there's also no question that the "American Cultural Empire" has dominated the world for the last 75 years. We don't even have to get into gruesome military details. McDonalds, Apple, Google, and others have conquered the globe without firing a single shot. Besides, China's day is numbered as well. I'm certainly no expert, but I see wages and other indications of middle class growth happening in China. I also see more and more resistance to the government's often brutal crackdowns. For instance, if memory serves, Chinese police have shut down 1500 christian churches since the first of the year and arrested the pastors and their families. But, more and more churches are still popping up every day. I also see signs that the growth China has experienced over the last several decades, due to the west's desire for more and more "things" may be slowing and transferring elsewhere to places like India and maybe, one day, to Africa.
Rome rose, and ruled, and fell. Throughout all that time, and before it, and after it, China was the greater empire by far. When Rome declared it ruled all the known world, China hardly appeared on its maps; but Rome did appear on Chinese maps. They had the better cartographers, after all. But I wasn't comparing empires, but offices and individuals.
