Of all the ways to respond to a subpoena from a federal grand jury, “screw that” has got to be among the least likely to keep you out of jail.
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/05/...ml?rref=collection/sectioncollection/politics I think this was touched on briefly earlier but it does seem to be gaining more traction - be interesting to see if she could be offered asylum since it's Trump's lackeys who would need to approve the request...
Well, Nunberg put on one hell of a show on Ari Melber. He says he won't testify because Podesta wasn't indicted. He also says he won't help get Roger Stone in trouble even though he has nothing that would get Stone in trouble. He also dismisses the possibility of going to jail for contempt. "I'm not going to jail." Okaaaaayyy...
It's not the piss tape - this is rumored to be a buncha Russian oligarchs and American guests on a yacht (where there happen to be escorts - possibly an attempt to bribe the Russian deputy prime minister who was also aboard) - who discussed plans for the US election. The yacht belongs to the Russian who has Manafort in his pocket.
Yikes, indeed. Melber and his two former prosecutor guests were obviously appalled and doing their best to help the guy stop digging. Someone mentioned that it looked more like an intervention than an interview. Damn good TV if your idea of entertainment is someone completely meltdown in public.
The 42 most crazy quotes from the Nunberg CNN interview: https://edition.cnn.com/2018/03/05/politics/sam-nunberg-analysis/index.html And the Ari Melber segment:
Hope Hicks sure does seem to date a lot of people in a short period of time. Good for her, I guess, but it make salacious fodder for the tabloids.
Jesus fuck, these twats... Some on the Nunes side are now claiming the FBI failed to mention that Alexander Downer, an Australian diplomat who first put them on to George Papadopoulos, has ties to the Clintons... because in 2006, he was part of a team who arranged a donation from the Australian government to a Clinton anti-AIDS initiative. This being an annual foreign aid grant that goes to a cause selected by the government, btw. Underlined the bits these twonks either don't understand or are choosing to ignore in their desperation to undermine the FBI probe. http://thehill.com/376858-australia...rompted-fbis-russia-probe-has-tie-to-clintons
@Bailey might be able to confirm this, but most Aussies view Downer to a rightwinger who has more in common with American Republicans than he would Democrats.
Not really Mueller related but it'll be an interesting insight as to how Trump treats wrongdoing by his people - KellyAnne Conway has been found to have violated the Hatch Act on two occasions by the Office of the Special Counsel, since she used her government position to advocate for candidates in last year's Alabama special elections. It's been referred to Trump for decision on disciplinary action.
Did anyone see the clip where one lady that was interviewing him told him she could smell alcohol on his breath? He was like, "WhabuInenahphffft I haven't had one drink."
Not seen it, but wouldn't be surprised. Though having come close to a nervous breakdown a few years back, I can state you will say crazy shit even without booze helping you along.
I've really seen enough of the batshit crazy act from Nunberg. I really hope the networks will decide that they're not going to put him on unless they're reasonably sure he's sober and/or coherent. Watching somebody self-destruct was entertaining in a grisly sort of way, but any more of these kinds of interviews would just be exploitation. I remember going to a football game at FSU (before they hit the big time) and in a desperate effort to distract attention from the horrific football being played they brought in various circus acts. One time they brought in a guy called "The Human Bomb" or some such. He put on a crash helmet, sealed himself in a box that vaguely resembled a coffin and blew off several sticks of dynamite under it. Okay, yeah, I was fascinated by it, but I have no desire to see it again, either.
Senses - as limited as they are - appear to have been come to: https://edition.cnn.com/2018/03/06/...-mueller-backtracks-will-cooperate/index.html
Mueller's reportedly looking to see if the UAE contributed to the Trump campaign. https://www.thedailybeast.com/nyt-e...s-to-trump-aides-now-cooperating-with-mueller
Despite his protests earlier this week, it seems Sam Nunberg decided to testify after all. Quick, someone get him drunk and he’ll tell the media what he testified about!
^ And Trump was nowhere near Las Vegas on October 17. He held a rally in Wisconsin that day, and one in Colorado Springs the following day. Granted, it's possible that he flew to Vegas on the 16th, or that some campaign surrogates stayed there, or that a bunch of invoices just happened to get paid that day, but the amount does seem like a pretty big coincidence...
Trump's team is trying to trade an interview with Trump for limiting the investigation and agreeing to end it early. I am not sure why Mueller would agree to any of that as he will get to interview Trump in the end anyway.
