I just wasted over 30 minutes burning over 20 songs from my computer onto a 700MB CD, and the blasted thing won't play in the CD player in my van. It plays inside the Computer just fine. What Gives?
Did you burn it as a music CD, or as an MP3/data disk? Did you see if the disk works in another CD player that is not a computer?
Put the CD in your computer, look at the songs list, and "right click" to see the properties. If they are listed as WAV files, then I don't know why they won't play. Sometimes this happens when the CD is removed before it's "formatted."
It depends on the type of CD player you have in your car. Some manufacturers, Sony for example, deliberately make it so burned CDs will not play because they think it would promote piracy while others, mostly second tier brands, go out of their way to advertise that their CD players will work with burned CDs because they think it is a market advantage to them. The bottom line is you're going to have to buy a new car stereo if you want to play burned CDs.
