How about TPTB limit it to once a year...... I've been going around thinking Night Funky is Federal Farmer and now just found out it's Tuckerfan. Night Funky totally sounds like something stupid that FF would think up. Come on now.... this silliness with the name changes has to stop.
And yes I know Tuckerfan hasn’t changed his name in a long time. I’m not talking about him though he should be made to keep the name for a year. No exceptions.
The funny thing is this very thread existed over at Lonaf back in the day. And if you wanted to change your name at TK, you just made a new dual and spammed Speak Freely.
I think name changes are annoying for the most part since it makes it harder to keep track of who's who (especially on mobile, see example of when @GhostEcho would keep telling people off for not looking at his signature when not realising who he was - despite signatures not appearing on mobile) but putting this sort of blanket limit in place seems unnecessary.
Blanket limit? On most sites you don't even get to change your name. Maybe once if you're lucky. And that's it. Want a new name after that? Make a new account. At Wordforge we've got people changing their names every few weeks. I don't see how limiting it to once a year is such a hardship for members.
On the reference to other boards, another place I post regularly lets users change their username whenever they want, but you have to pay for it. That would be an interesting fundraising strategy.
That's a lie easily disproved by checking the name change thread. It's not that hard to keep up with a handful of name changes per year.
Hi ya'll. I just registered here with what I thought was one name (Injeun). And when it was all said and done, I wound up with two names (Derrial Injeun). Weird. Any way to get it changed?
