Anybody catch this Sunday? An American AT-6 WWII training plane, painted in WWII German markings for air shows, force-landed on a highway in CA and burned up. The pilot walked away, so... good landing . Most of the online headlines declared it a "WWII Nazi fighter!!!!11" One online site even went on to say "It's clearly either a Bf-109 or an Fw-190, whether an original or a reproduction we don't yet know." Never mind that those two planes look nothing alike, and only the Focke Wulf might, sort of, kind of, bear a very slight passing resemblance to an AT-6 if you squint at it in the dark. From the front. Other sites declare it was painted in Nazi markings - well, it was painted in 1940s Luftwaffe markings, yes, but the owner did not put a swastika on the tail, so technically no, no 'Nazi' markings. The level of research in online reporting is approaching zero. Some online reactions from the masses wondered why the owner would paint an American plane in Nazi markings? Is he a Nazi sympathizer? Well, I guess not everyone has been to an air show. Or seen a Pat Benatar video. Calm down, and carry on. ABC was one that got the reporting right. Maybe it does look a little like a crashed Fw-190. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-10...azi-insignia-crashes-onto-us-highway/10423414
Clearly this plane did not exist before Trump took office, and it was flown by an alt-right Nazi as a dog whistle to other alt-right Nazis.
Relatively speaking. Watching the video, it's clear that the black car did Nazi see that plane coming.
Turns out it belonged to an organization that owns several AT-6s painted up in different WWII markings, and was indeed used in airshows to stage WWII dogfights. But, ya know, the headline is more important than the facts.
I'm going with Nazi time travel experiment where the plane disappeared in 1945 and the pilot finally phased back to our time.
