Oh, I didn't mean to indicate that I'd be paying for it either. I don't have cable anymore, so I won't be watching it on TV. If it comes on Netflix, Hulu or Amazon, I still won't watch it because that would still be paying for it. The day I watch this pile of crap, I'll be playing pirate that day.
It's on my list to watch, and I always finish a list. If it's as bad as the critics are saying, I'll watch Ant-Man again for an antidote.
That's what I'm hoping happens. With the way Fox has tanked this property Marvel can get it back cheap.
This is actually getting worse reviews than the two Jessica Alba movies! And I thought those were bad... I think Marvel will be getting one of their properties back soon.
Yikes, into single digits on Rotten Tomatoes. Sounds like the only superpower this movie has is to disappear after a single weekend.
Watched the first FF movie, no interest in this one. I mentioned it in the movie thread, but it was pretty not-good.
Well, we know why Fox spent very little promoting it and why they kept critics from seeing it until the last minute...
And, that completes the summer, so here's the recap. http://dickynoo.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-big-summer-movie-recap-part-3.html
I still think I'd rather double dip on Ant-Man or M:I5 I'm not that big of a fan of F4 anyway. The only actor I like is Kate Mara and she's not that big of an apeal for me to see this one. I'm simply not interested.
No, the one that was followed by the Silver Surfer movie. As I mentioned in the movie thread, there were some good ideas in that movie, but the execution was pretty bad. I get the sense that that would be the best case scenario if I watched this movie.
Okay, here's how I'd fix Fantastic Four. First of all, keep this version, no reboot, and here's why. This version, as broken as it is, has dimension travel. This fixes everything else. Have Fox work out the same deal as Sony has with Spider-Man. Share the characters, but Fox puts forward the work and money for solo FF movies. If Marvel has to make them, their slate is already crowded, you won't see these characters again 'til 2025. FF2, have the FF open a dimension door to the MCU, and their next movie is a crossover. Now, the Inhumans can meet the FF, She-Hulk can replace Thing, and the mythos is complete. FF3, have the FF open a dimension door to the X-Men. Bam, Marvel universe is re-assembled.
Oh, and in the MCU crossover, have the MCU world has a version of Doctor Doom that's like the comics, and go to their world to replace the shitty one. Boom, fixed.
In one of the 18 billion Marvel/Disney/superhero threads we have here, I pointed out that Marvel will have input on all the non-Disney Marvel films and idly wondered if Marvel wouldn't fuck up the non-Disney films so that they could get the rights back. I was told that there was no way Marvel would allow any of the films to suck because it would damage the other superhero films they were planning.....
I don't think Marvel has that much influence on the Fox ones. The contract will state that Fox can only do so much with the F4, beyond that? Can't see it. As for the F4, I plan to see it, although from wheat I hear it starts out well enough but then fades into fairly staid territory, and there is little, if any, humour, which is the bit I don't understand. Superhero films are for entertainment, and people like to laugh, so if you have a dark film, fine, stick in some gallows humour or some light-hearted moments to either offset the dark moments or even amplify them. Really, not a difficult concept.
It's tanking big-time at the box office and the director is distancing himself from the film, blaming the studio.
Wholly cow! The opening weekend isn't even over and there is already a pointing of fingers from the director at the studio. What an epic fail this is.
I've never seen a "Director's Cut" that actually improves a shitty film. I think a shitty film is a shitty film, and no amount of editing is going to fix it.
