I've just seen this on the news -- what a beautiful creature and how lovely to have a new species.

Wow, that is an amazingly beautiful animale...

The ammount of new species being discovered of late just proves that we have no clue how many have been driven to extinction, and just how much we have left undiscovered in our own back yard.

Yah, quite heartening really. They found on average a new species a week last year, according to that report. :D

Ya. it is truely a shame that anyone who cares about perserving nature, and exploring the scientific and natural beauty of this planet gets labeled a tree hugger, or wacko...

Rain forests, Oceans, Caves... left alone because people don't have intrest... Damn fucking shame.

The Science Channel, or maybe National Geographic Channel had a pretty cool special, "Expedition Borneo", about the scientists who went to that area. They tried like hell to get a photo of that leopard but didn't manage it - though its prints were everywhere.

I'd recommend that - they went to some incredible places and found some really cool species.

Did you see the similar show, where these reptile experts got permission to go to an off limits island over there and found a new species of tree snake?

I think (on consultation of the OH) it was a programme about the Amazon...

Would like to see the programme referred to above, though. I love me some wildlife telly :ramen:

I grew up on the (old) learning and discovery channels... back when they were intelligent and not all reality TV programing.

Shows about nature, science, ect... I miss those days.

And they say a leopard can't change it's spots.

What, somebody had to say it.

I think that happens when certain conservationists put animals before their fellow man.
