So as y'all may or may not know, I was working on a spec pilot for the Disney Channel. They passed on it because it's too similar to another show they had in development, but invited me to come in and pitch. So I worked on a few ideas with my friend over there, and once she was happy with what I came up with, we set a meeting with a higher-level development exec, which was today. It went well, he likes both ideas I pitched, and he wants to see me make some changes and come back. I have to say, I'm a bit bummed I didn't just walk out with a check, but this is the next layer of the onion. Get one person happy with it, then get it to their boss, and get them happy with it. It takes forever and a day, but when it hits, it'll be worth it. Back to the salt mine!
WTF? And they said this with a straight face? Every fucking show on Disney is similar to another show. Those "tween" sitcoms are the very definition of cookie-cutter. You should take your ideas to other networks. Don't let these clowns get you down!
