I'm addicted to my DS. I got it a couple months ago (because I couldn't justify spending a shitload of money on a Wii), and I love it.

    So far I'm playing:
MarioKart (gotta have the standard racing game)
Tetris (yes, I play it so much I have Tetris dreams..... what's with the annoying music, though? I liked the Russian-sounding music of old!)
New Super Mario Bros. (almost done with the adventure game bit, but I love doing the mini-games and vs. battles with a friend)
Lunar Knights (haven't actually played it, but lent it to my friend cuz he was going on a long plane-ride.... I need to get it back!)

My friend has a couple Castlevania games that he said he'd lend me.

Any suggestions for other DS games?

Oh, and if you'd like to be pwned by me on Tetris or MarioKart in online play, PM me and I'll give ya my friend code. :diablo:

Is the DS better than the PSP?

I'm getting to the point where my GBA is about to waste away from lack of games, and I've already buried one.

I love my DS. I'm not totally sold on the Wii yet, but I love Nintendo games.

    Trauma Centre,
Mario & Luigi - Partners in Time &
Phoenix Wright - Ace Attorney are good.

I'm looking to get Hotel Dusk next.

well the best thing about the DS is that it is backwards compatible with the GBA.

Some of the top rated games for the DS, according to metacritic-

    Mario Kart DS
    Advance Wars: Dual Strike
    Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
    Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
    New Super Mario Bros.
    Kirby: Canvas Curse
Mario & Luigi: Partners In Time
    Metroid Prime: Hunters
    Super Mario 64 DS
    Nintendogs
    Final Fantasy III
    Star Fox Command
    Trauma Center: Under The Knife
    Tetris DS
    Pokemon Diamond/Pearl

And there are tons of great GBA games you can play on your system too.

For all the arguments it is hard to say since they use a lot of different approaches.

DS games generally seem more suited to quick short games like you would have while out and about (the whole purpose of a portable system) whereas the PSP is a far better media player and can replicate the console experience quite well.

I will be getting the new Zelda come payday.

    Games I have:

Star Wars: lethel alliance, which came with it but still have not played
Monopoly, battleships, yahatze and boggle compendium
    Mario kart ds
    Tetris DS
    New super Mario
    And Resdident Evil Deadly Silence

Love the new modes in resident evil, as well as thrashing CM on mario kart, and the normal mode of Tetris. She beats me at push on Tetris though, and I tought her to play it :weep:

    In short, yes, it is.

But if you know how to hack the PSP and put PS1, Nintendo DS, SNES, and MAME games on it, then it's hands down the better system, even with it's annoying size.

I wrote a bit about the strengths and weaknesses of both systems here:

As for DS games, I recently picked up Mario vs Donkey Kong: March of the Minis, and it is a very fun game. Harvest Moon is also a cute and fun.

The DS has a better battery life I think as well?

The DS just seems more fun to me, has a bigger variety of game genres and a lot more games to choose from. PSP is a better multi-media experience, but if I play a handheld at all, it's for fun games.. not for watching movies on a 4" screen.

^ Much. Close to the old GameBoy battery life.
