Though I'd bring this up here first to head off the Red Room drama that will ensure. Anyway, I gotta agree with Dayton that letting NotDayton post outside the Red Room is asking for trouble...not from [name redacted] but from trolls like Faceman who will seek to exploit the loophole we are setting ourselves up for. Thoughts?
Yeah, quite possibly. But it's not going to happen anyway, since he rejected the terms. He's been spamming my message box with demands that we kill the dual. He contended that the NotDayton account wasn't popular and therefore was only tolerated because staff had it in for him. That's why I offered him the option of letting a poll decide. But I wanted him to have some skin in the game, which he was not willing to do. At any rate, the poll and posts in the thread should demonstrate to him that it's not just staff. And since he wasn't willing to take the risk to prove his assertion, nothing changes. The dual remains, there is a demonstration that it isn't just staff, and Dayton shuts up about it for the time being.
While I'm just here to make things go, I think it would have been a disastrous move to let NotDayton post outside the Red Room. I find the whole thing tiring anyway, but that's just my opinion on it. Flaming, trolling, these things are fine as long as they're confined to the Red Room. Once outside of it, the potential for abuse skyrockets. Hell, this is Wordforge; The potential for abuse would be guaranteed and imminent.
