Predicted High points: 1) We need to stop this bickering 2) Backhanded insult to Republicans/Tea Party/Talk Radio/Palin 3) We're Americans and won't bow to terror or crazy folks 4) But we need to treat everyone as untrustworthy criminals and ban guns to make that happen See how many I get right.
Oh, is he about the fan the flames of peace and love so we can all live in harmony? The man has divided our nation like none other.
Fucking son of a bitch pre-empted Human Target. We wait all fucking week to sit down with a cup of cocoa and a snack and watch Human Target, and the fucking president pre-empts it.
Wow, not only did Blessed Barack manage to work in healthcare and Medicare into the speech about shooting victims, but he miraculously healed Gabby. GABBY OPENED HER EYES! And all it took was to be in Blessed Barack's presence! Like Oprah said, he is a Lightbringer.
I'm sitting in the airport terminal in SLC and this crap is on, and there is no escape unless I want to go hide in the gorram restroom. You'd think from the cheers that this was Democratic National Convention, not a gorram memorial service.
I thought his speech was actually quite good. It's probably the closest he'll ever come to the Bush II 9/11 speech. Now, that choir that followed... totally over the top.
Wonder how much the "Together We Thrive" t-shirts that people were given and managed to have Obama sign it will be going for on eBay?
Well if Obama is that intent on being a Human Target......:behindsofa: so do I get that free ride to FBI Headquarters now or what?
Seriously. I don't give a fuck what the president says, I want my evening escapist action/adventure show.
Yes, if division is what we shall judge presidents upon, Lincoln would be at the bottom of the list, and Buchanan near the top. Whatever else he may have done, Buchanan juggled the needs and wants of the 'north and south' in as near a balance as there could have been without provoking a war. I'd go so far as to call Buchanan the "Picard Diplomat" of the 19th century presidents. He was defeated, not for fear of secession- that was already underway, but because the politicians and press were preaching to their constituencies that Lincoln R (or Breckinridge D-of the day) could do a much better job managing the crisis, and what a job it was; it only cost us the most lives of any American-involved war in the history of this entire country. Thank God for Andrew Johnson who made Congress pay for every baby step toward Reconstruction favoring the North until they lame-ducked him.
Despite 2095 posts and 6 years of being a member, I'm having a hard time remembering ever reading a Speck post. Has he always been Baba lite or is that recent?
What makes me Baba like? and I'll take that as a compliment. march 2005 is not... well damn! I have wasted a lot of my life!
