I think we have identified his personal favorite phrase (the equivalent of Reagan's "Well....") How many times a week does BO preface a remark with "Make no mistake"? By the way, fine sentiments. Good luck getting them applied.
That's not his phrase. His phrase is "Let me be clear." "I want to be clear" also seems to be an acceptable variant.
Six months in and we've established one thing with certainty: Obama is long on speeches, but short on leadership. Rhetoric alone does not a good president make- fuckin guy's a preacher, not even yet resembling a leader of the free world.
This week, from Dan Henninger, featured every Thurs in the OpEd of WSJ (on the same page as Karl Rove's weekly editorials):

I could've picked a better thread to nitpick him. In this instance rhetoric can be very useful. Sadly, the sheer volume of all the other speeches detracts from occasions such as this, where a strong message sent by the right messenger can be very effective. I hope the message has legs.
