I used to think that @Order2Chaos and @shootER were the last hold outs of rational thinking, but this Colorado decision has proved to me that they have succumbed to partisanship. They are no longer capable of being objective. They’re willing to throw out the constitution and all this country stands for partisan politics, it’s really disturbing. I expect this type of partisanship from other members, but not them. I’m lost for words.
1. You've called both of them leftists in the past. 2. What happened in Colorado that was unconstitutional?
1. I didn’t want to believe it, but it’s abundantly clear now. 2. the lack of any sort of due process.
Yes, it's a shocking disregard of our constitutional rights that this issue was never even presented to a court before Trump was struck from the ballot.
Lack of due process is a talking point you read somewhere on a website. The due process is that this is working its way through the courts and the conservative Supreme Court will overrule Colorado’s. Now, if you ask me the text of the Constitution is pretty clear and Trump should be barred from ever holding office again.
So do you hate the Constitution in general or just when it goes against your guy? Should all amendments be ignored or just the 14th Section 3: No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
Objectivity, as a position in politics and social structure, is often overrated. It is important, from the perspective of a third party mediating something, but as a person, you are not objective, or at least, not as objective as you think you are. Look at all of the men out there who mock women, act like children when a movie or a game has something they don't like, and then call themselves rational. There is no such animal. We do the best we can with the reason we have, and the information we've gathered. That's it. That's the whole banana. This idea that there is a singularly objective position to have is horseshit, and only feeds into fantasy. All that said, I don't think it's a good idea to ban people from ballots. On the other hand, fuck Donald Trump, lol.
It’s the Democrats who hate the constitution and democracy, they’re actively canceling primaries and ignoring the rule of law and you applaud it.
We went over this in another thread, and you agreed that the Democrats were well within their rights and followed the rules to the letter when they cancelled that primary.
So? It doesn’t make it any less undemocratic. They also did it in Massachusetts and are trying to do it in other states as well.
Trump should have been disallowed from holding any public office ever again around three and a half years ago. All of this is much too late.
Okay then by that standard I declare Joe Biden to be an insurrectionist and therefore is disqualified from running for president. He doesn’t need to be charged with insurrection or convicted either. I said so, therefore it’s true.
