    Kings and Queens

    It hasnt
    Rained in years,
    And the castle walls
    Will soon disappear,
    While the land waits
    To swallow it whole,
    For the last remaining man
    Has the last remaining soul.

    -moderate instrumental-

    The Phoenix
    Flew straight down
    Through the embarking spirits
That had left their humble ground
    And it set aflame
    All that we called home
But though we called it such a thing,
It felt like we were all alone-
    And all the bitterness
    Grew well up into pride,
    For the candle light vigil
    Of God would not subside-
    We let the world
    Crumble on it's own,
    Beneath us
And all our names were on the stone.

    He was the flood
He thought he was a savior-
    For the good
    Through his unsavory behavior-
    With his weapons
    There's fire all around
    In the cancer
    That spread mercilessly...over the ground.

    Ivory towers
    That we've built so tall
    Deep inside
There's a little Babel in us all
    And the hedonistic pleasures
    Behind our sweet sadistic lives
Have left a cold sardonic attitude
    In our catatonic hives.

    The horsemen
    Numbering four
    Come knocking violently
    At your deadbolted doors
    And when they find you
    The castle will fall
    With it's sky devouring towers
And it's people that once stood tall.

    He was the flood
He thought he was a savior-
    For the good
    Through his unsavory behavior-
    With his fire
    There's blood boiling all around
    In the cancer
    That spread mercilessly...over the ground.

    -short instrumental-

    And the grace
    That will never be found...

    -long instrumental-

    There's fire all around... (x8)

    To stand before God
We would shake out of our skin
Knowing all that we've done wrong
Is a testiment to our sin
And to those that do not recognize
The place we should call home
Though you felt so in control
That life was not your own
    And you're childish disposition
Your excuse for all you've done
Cannot save you from the fire,
    Cannot save you...
    From the Sun.

    ...

    Seven billion kings and queens
    Died that year-
    In the fire
    Of it's unrelenting peers.
