He's just mad because boomers got us into the position we're in now, and they want to be compared to "the greatest generation," when they haven't earned that accolade. Instead, they're getting clapback from the current generations who will have to fix their fuckups, and this has shocked and appalled them. That this guy, and others like him, think the word "boomer" is the same as an epithet used against enslaved black people shows the entitlement mindset they have.
That, and it's yet another example of white people not being able to wrap their heads around the idea there were ever any consequences of racism more serious than hurt feelings.
Yeah, the fact that "we enslaved you and used words as weapons of oppression against you" and "you called us a name that means we're out of touch" are being conflated by them is exactly why people are calling them names that mean they're out of touch. You have to be on the dark side of Pluto to think those two statements are, in any way, comparable.
It seems as if we're retrograding to a point where we don't speak, just grunt and gesture, and then those will be misinterpreted as well. I'm a Boomer and proud of it. It was Nixon and Reagan that fucked up the economy...with a great deal of help from Wall Street (all ages) and that smarmy NY slumlord in the White House who, strictly speaking, fits into the Boomer demographic, but if someone had bequeathed me $10 mil (or even $1 mil; I'm not fussy) the way his father did, I'd have made much better use of it.

He's utterly out of touch with current issues aside from the fact that every young person should stop complaining, pull themselves up by their bootstraps, and work hard because that's how you get rich.
