    Re: Trolling--

I dunno about some of you, but I've ignored some stupid posters not because they didn't deserve a nice cup of Bitchslap(tm), but because it's not worth raising my goddamn blood pressure for something that doesn't affect jack and shit IRL (You know, the shit that actually matters). I won't say ignoring works in all cases--you can't ignore a pissing contest that spills into nine out of every ten threads, for instance, like at the TBBS forums. You can, however, ignore a twat who for whatever reason decides to waste his time has some personal issue with you (general "you") by flipping the ignore switch--or even better, excersize some restraint and not become like them by dragging their names into threads they haven't posted into, and don't bitch to everyone else about what a victim you are.

How hard is that not to do?

See, here's the crux of it. Like Face, you're pissed that I gamed the system with that thread in the Blue Room.

Excuse me while I derail the thread back to its original topic...

I use "Full of FAIL!" with my friends when I laugh at them for something. We use it only when someone really fails at something... like when they walk into a glass door, or when they repeatedly fail to catch a ball and end up chasing it around for 30 seconds, etc.

As far as everyday use... why the hell would I use "full of FAIL" when no epic fails have happened?

We realize the language is stupid, yes.

But sometimes it's fun for us nerds to be stupid. :ramen:

Going back to the topic at hand...

Ignore buttons, people. They're there for a reason. :bailey:

Most of us in Gunforge have some understanding of basic tactics and strategies, and when to engage the enemy.

The direction this thread has taken is interesting. Shoes' OP has gone completely astray, and I hope someone can get back to it. Then again, the same people who think "just ignore them" is a solution to trolls probably think saying "fail and AIDS" every third post is clever.

That was actually a pretty good slam. MadTV sucks.

But really... its an equally retarded internet buzzword that comes from the same source.

How are we keeping them as pets?

Trolls feed on peoples reactions, so we take away what they are after.

Well, let's see. You're upset. Tamar's upset. Bear's annoyed. And none of the dedicated trolls have even participated yet.

However, some of the ones who did spend an inordinate amount of energy trolling me are no longer here.

And the ones who still haven't gotten the message will squander a lot of posts thinking they can get me to have a meltdown (they can't) or that they can drive me away (they can't), and y'all will continue to get annoyed, not at them, but at me.

Me, I'm intrigued by the dynamic.

Since I almost never visit the Blue Room and I certainly don't read your thread, you are wrong.

I saw it once, when it was being decided whether it should stay there or be moved since it is a very thinly veiled troll.

    Was I impressed? Nope.

Do you see me bitching, moaning, whining, following you around trying to get you to stop or anything else? Nope.

I don't bother reading it. Simplicity.

You should try it, Ms. Modern Maturity. Instead, you make snide remarks about the schoolyard set, when you are right there in the sandbox making mudpies with them...ironic.

No, it wasn't. The fact that Flashy thought it was is just so dim-witted it makes me laugh every time I think about it. Hence the signature.

I cannot BELIEVE there's anyone here who still believes Flashlight is a lawyer AND a therapist.

    Sorry, neither.

He's as "real" as JohnM's island.

    How are we upset?

I'm certainly not upset, I'm just pointing out that your strategy doesn't work.

In fact your whole bizarre roach analogy completely falls apart when you consider that the staff do occasionally pull out the insecticide and wipe out anything too nasty.

Amazing that you know so much about something you didn't read. :?:

If you don't want me to respond to trolls, you take whatever action you think is appropriate.

Or just stop whining about how I handle trolls.

You really don't get it do you?

Trolls cause trouble because they like people reacting.

When you react, it makes people troll more.

So in effect, when you are reacting you are dropping food for the roaches.

We're telling you to stop dropping crumbs on the kitchen floor.

    THAT is the appropriate action.

    Wow.

I simply can't believe that this thread turned into another last supper for garamet when the topic has already been beaten to death in, what? Three other threads? That's a stretch even by WF red room standards.

garamet, stop trying to convince everyone that you don't bring this on yourself. You brought it up this time.

Flashy apparently thought that just because I would not reveal the author's name - for legal reasons - it *must* be Anne Rice.

If you're asking me what convoluted Flashy-logic caused him to arrive at that conclusion...
