How about a subscription-only forum where people say whatever they want about anything they want?

The level of restraint required at Wordforge is pretty miniscule in the Red Room.

If it's too much, you probably are in the wrong place.

Unless it's 'policy'. Then it gets sent here, and then locked?

Policy is not a topic for a brawl, but for serious, civilized discussion. The rest is covered by the Red Room, so there's no point in making Yet Another Room.

^That's a distinction many disagree with, including myself. And that's really all that matters.

I'm sorry, but no. I'm bound by the laws of the United States of America, the State of Texas (where the server resides), and the Constitution and Laws of the State of Alabama (which I took an oath to uphold.)

"Anything goes" would/could put us in a very sticky legal position with increasingly restrictive legislation. I'm not even going to fight even if it's a clear cut First Amendment issue because of what I have repeatedly said in the past. They day any court or law enforcement officer shows up at my place of work or home with any kind of order or questions about Wordforge, this place ceases to exist immediately.

Thems the breaks and the chances you take.

I think that makes it clear the limb Elwood goes out on just to have this place running.

And why people need to chill about useless board drama.

I'm not trying anything coy here, I should say that right off...

If it's that kind of risk, Elwood, why do you want to be the owner, and thus responsible for its content?

If it makes Elwood that nervous, he should sell then, IMHO.

He's the third owner of this place, I see nothing wrong with there being a fourth.

As long as people keep it reasonable, there's no risk.
